First Day of Track and Field practice: Wednesday, January 20th 2010. 3:45pm in the PSHS Fieldhouse.

Great Job Mitch Wolff!! Mitch competed for the Cougar Track Club over the Jan. 9th weekend at the Arkansas High School Invitational. He qualified for the finals in the 60 Meter High Hurdles and finished in 6th place against some of the best competition in the nation.

15th Place at the State Championships!! Congrats to the Runnin’ Cougars Cross Country Team. The South CC Team finished the 2009 season with a 15th place team finish. Our best finish in our young school’s history. Also, congrats to Jake Ferris. Jake finished in 16th place (14:52 for 3 miles) to earn All-State Honors!

Congratulations to Jake Ferris, 2009 Southwest Prairie Conference Individual Champion. Plus, congrats to Nick Maher, Alex Deeter, Tyler Ryan and Kyle Ryan for making All-Conference!

Congratulations to John Prieboy (PSHS Class of 2007). John competed in the Naperville Triathlon and took FIRST PLACE in his age division (males age 20-24). John completed the 400 meter swim in 7 minutes 17 seconds, the 13.7 mile bike in 36 minutes 16 seconds and the 3.1 mile run in 18 minutes 2 seconds. Great job John!!

The “Backwards Track and Field Invite” on Wed. July 1st was a huge success! Exactly 100 athletes participated and had a great time. Thank you to all of our Plainfield South students who volunteered their time and ran a great track meet. Plus, thank you to the Naperville Track Club, Winged Foot Track Club (Aurora), Spartan Track Club (Romeoville), Yorkville Track Club and everybody else for competing in our first summer track and field meet. We will do it again next year!
